Just a quick question on Commvault upgrades which I havent got a time to notice.

For example you have a Commvault 8 license which has the following licenses

    Windows FS IDA 2

Now you are planning to upgrade your Commvault environment to v9 including the 2 Windows machines using the Windows FS IDA would you need to buy 2 new Windows FS IDA licenses even if you are not planning to upgrade your 2 Windows clients to Commvault 9?

    Hello,

Just to clarify, you are going to upgrade your CommServe and MediaAgent(s) to version 9 but leave your 2 Windows FS IDA Clients on v8?  If that is the case, it will still consume the same 2 Windows FS IDA licenses and you would not need additional licenses.  If you were looking to install additional Windows FS IDA on other servers, you would need licenses for that.
