I'm a Windows sysadmin, not a Linux guru, but I asked around, and the answer I got here is that /sys is a filesystem that Commvault doesn't support and shouldn't be trying to back up... Is that correct?  Could we have missed something during the configuration of these agents?

    Thanks!

yes this is correct, we by default filter sysfs on Linux which /sys is.

I've recently inherited this system and have no idea what settings were changed in the past.  If the default setting is to skip /sys, I'm guessing there's a setting somewhere to change it? Which setting would it be?

yes, you can use additional setting http://documentation.commvault.com/additionalsetting/details?name=ignoreFStype.

Why do you want to backup /sys though?

I don't.  I'm trying to fix whatever happened in the past that's making it try (and fail) to back up /sys.

    Hi Manoj_Pradhan,

That link doesn't go anywhere, but I Googled 'ignoreFStype' and this appears to be set correctly. The logs even say the agent is skipping /sys... but then it doesn't.  I created a support incident.

    Thanks!
