    Good Day Gents,

We are working on developping our commcell by adding a new external side and i'd like to see if i can confirm some settings.

    Here is our topology

    Commmserve : Site 1

    Media agent A : site 1

We plan to add a second site :

    Media agent B : Site 2 .

Main Goal would be to have Media Agent B configured on Commserve on Site 1.

We would have a dash copy sent from Site 2 to Site 1.

One restriction we would have : TCP communication needing to be initiated from site 1 only.

My understanding is that it could be done using the one way firewall. Is that so? what you think ?

    Thanks in advance

    Seb

Yes you are correct.  You can have bi-directional traffic from a one-way firewall.  Have a look a the Direct Connection Predefined Network Topologies (https://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11/article?p=7177.htm).

Or (if you are like me) you prefer the Advanced Network settings interface

Configuring the MediaAgent and Client for One-Way Direct Connection (CommServe to Client) : https://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11/article?p=7226.htm, where the client in your case is MediaAgent B.

If you want to tunnel the data traffic to Site 2 then I recommend using eight tunnels for the route https://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11/article?p=95277.htm.
