Anyone been able to come up with a crafty way to have your regkey configuration from the Addin template take effect after only a single reboot?

I believe the settings are trying to be applied before the msi completes so users need to reboot twice before they proper keys are updated.

Its hard enough to get users to reboot once nevermind twice.

The GPO will be pushed out by policies set on the AD side, so you should see the changes immediately after a client updates.  Have you tried to force a group policy update on a client and then check the registry?

GPO gets pushed and MSI installed.

However the registry settings part of the gpo that uses the addin template doesn't get applied until the user reboots again.

I assume this is because when it tries to apply those settings the msi isn't fully installed yet.

So basically 2 reboots to get the outlook addin installed and configured.

Was just seeing if someone was doing something else to make sure the regkeys get updated after the msi without rebooting.

That's what i'm testing now in the user configuration I've created a bat script that does a gpudate /force /w:0 when the user logs on.

Hopefully that will force the key changes after the msi.

How did you make out with the bat file you were creating?

    Thank you,
