Just a quick one on VADP and hardware compression. Just wanted to get your opinions on VADP backing up to LTO 5 tape with hardware compression.  Do you actually get any compression with VADP.  I remember reading an article about disabling hardware compression when doing a backup of ESX VMs via VADP because VADP actually compresses the data already during the backup phase.

Also how many Data readers should be set on the subclient to get the most optimal performance.

I assume NBD should be enough for backup to LTO 5 tapes using VADP

    Your thoughts?

Even though VADP would eliminate white space hardware compression should still net something since it would work against the blocks.
