Is it possible to create a subclient under Exchange Mailbox IDA where  backups are specified by Exchange Storage Groups?

At the moment I am backing up mailboxs by mailbox name that has been populated by "auto discovery".

If you take a look at the backupset for Exchange Mailbox, the second tab is for Autodiscovery.  You can configure autodiscovery to work based on regular expression, Exchange Storage Group/Database affinity or Active Directory User Group affinity.

Keep in mind that you will either have to create a new backupset, or remove all subclient affinity in existing subclients in order for the currently assigned mailboxes to be reallocated.

We work with Storage group affinity as above...

This will easily let you create a couple of subclients, and assign a storage group to each subclient. This way you'll be able to run mailbox backups in parallel, reducing the total backup window...

This is obviously only true when your Exchange can handle the load (CPU & I/O) these backups will generate together, i.e. the MAPI calls generated by these parallel backups will still have to get served by Exchange (and the disks the data is stored on)
