Has anyone installed this tool yet?

I've been able to find the client install but not he Admin install....

    The install document says:

To install the Exchange Offline Mining Tools expand the Client Modules folder and the iDataAgents folder, then select either or both of the following (as appropriate):

    • Exchange Offline Mining Tool for Administrators
    • Exchange Offline Mining Tool

However I've searched and can only find the Exchange Offline Mining Tool entry.

    Good morning,

    Please confirm the following:

    1. For Exchange 2007 (since it is 64bit) you must install the Mining tool on a 64bit Server other than the Exchange Server. (Same goes for Exchange 2003 32bit on a 32bit ser

    2. The server with the Mining tool must exist in the same Domain as the Exchange Server.

    3. The account being used for the mining tool must have a mailbox that resides on the Exchange Server where the Database originated from.

    4. For Administrative use, a group named ExchangeDBMineAdmins must be created in Active Directory and configured with Administrators who wish to see more than just their own mailbox.

    Thanks guys.

"3. The account being used for the mining tool must have a mailbox that resides on the Exchange Server where the Database originated from."

Seems to be the one I overlooked.

Hi guys, good information.  I'm fairly new to CV/Simpana (coming from TSM).

We have 10 Exchange servers with a couple more coming on-line soon.  Do I have to have an account on every single one?

    Thanks for your comments.

The account just needs to have a mailbox on one Exchange server in the same domain.  you should be able to use the same mailbox for all cases of the Mining Tool.  The intent to the statement was just that you cannot use a user account without any mailbox associated with it.
