We keep getting this error while trying to perform a full backup
"remote end has closed network connection unexpectedly"
The job will go to pending status, and then retry a bit later (10-30 minutes later). This only seems to be happening during the day, so I am assuming it is caused by users accessing the volume that is being backed up causes the backup to stop. Is this expected behavior or is there some way around this? This only gives us around 8 hours to backup at night when everyone is out of the office which isn't enough time for a full backup.
Client (iDataAgent) being backed up is Ubuntu 10 which is connected to a large RAID via an iSCSI connection (the RAID is the volume being backed up). Users also have access to files on the RAID via a Samba share. The Linux client communicates to the CommServe over our internal network. Using Simpana 8 sp4.
