  • Filtering members of a client group from a "Restart Backup" workflow operation.

    Hi all,

    I'm in the process of authoring a workflow that will automatically restart failed backups, when they meet certain conditions.

    However, there are some clients that must never be automatically restarted, so these have been placed into a clientGroup for filtering.

    Does anyone know of a striaght forward way filter out members of this clientgroup at the beginning of the workflow.

    In plain english;

    Restart the backup for this client *unless* this client is a member of this subgroup.

    If it is a memebr of the subgroup, then immediately end the workflow and don't attempt to restart.

    I have a feeling this could either be a DB query or a Javascript thing, but I'm at a bit of a loss.

    Any help would be much appreciated.

    You could use qlist client -cg "GROUPNAME"  and then set the workflow to end IF a group returns

    Ended up using a SQL Query to select members of the existing group.
    Then checking to see if any rows were returned from the query.

    Select c.id
    From commserv.dbo.APP_Client c
    INNER JOIN CommServ.dbo.APP_ClientGroupAssoc a ON c.id = a.clientId
    WHERE a.clientGroupId in (Select id From CommServ.dbo.APP_ClientGroup Where name = 'xpath:{/workflow/inputs/disabledBackupsGroup}') AND c.name = 'xpath:{/workflow/inputs/clientName}'
