We have 8.0 sp5 with gridstore amd the shared index cache is on the media agent that I need you take down for maintenance. The CommServ does not have a media agent and is reserved for CV only. What is the easiest way to move index cache it to the CS and does it meet best practicies to move it there on local drive. Because Transactional logs run every hour.

    Good morning,

Since this is a shared index cache and you have Gridstore, it sounds like you have more than one MediaAgent.  Is it possible to move it to another MediaAgent instead?

I have included a link for moving a shared index cache.

Yes we have 2 media agents at data crt and one at dr site, and if one goes down at main data ctr I want hourly trans to continue to work. And don't you want to set it up for round robin between the 2 media agents for failover and load balancing.

So it should work to move it to the commserv, because if it goes down all backups stop.

    Thanks for doc

    Good afternoon,

Not a problem.  Please let us know if you come across any issues with the move.
