  • backup jobs waiting at archive index phase when alternate datapath is used

    Hi

i had a problem with one our storage policies. We configured alternate datapaths to be used when resources are offline on preferred datapath.

datapath 1 is ma01 and lib01 -this is preferred datapath

    datapath 2 is ma02 and lib02

TO test this configuration we ran a Full backup and as expected job started to use datapath1 as it is our preferred datapath. once streams are allocated between client and ma01,we brought down cv services on ma01 to test if backup job continues on datapath2

as expected job resumed and started running on datapath2 using ma02

HOwever after backup job reaches archive index phase it is just in waiting state and when i checked clarchive log on ma02 i see error"wait for postbackup/index from ma01"

so our plan is to continue running backups if one of the datapath is offline. in this case if a job is started after one of the datapath is offline it is directly using datapath2,but when a full backup job is running on datapath1 and datapath1 goes offline during backup we see issues at archive index phase.

Btw the job is a windows fs backup job. we are in cv11 and this is a local index cache.

please suggest on how we resolve this issue
