    Hello all,

I am lookup for better solution about copying selected VMs to secondary store(cloud).

In the moment I have two independed TAG names -

    BTL - BackupToLocal

    BTLCC - BackupToLocalCopyToCloud

Its working.  But I am lookup for better solution where I could use one TAG and in selected copy I configure the set of VMs for copy to cloud store.  Have you any idea ?

    Petr

    Hello Petr,

    I just wanted to clarrify.

When you say copying VMs to a secondary store, do you mean via replicating the VM to another site using livesync?

    http://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11/article?p=products/vs_vmware/c_vmw_live_sync_overview.htm

Or do you mean that you are auxcopying certain data to another MA?

    http://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11/article?p=features/auxiliary_copy/c_auxiliary_copy_overview.htm

If you mean the later, you can set your subclients to use different storage policies. You can back up VMs base on:

    -VM Name/Pattern

    -Host

    -Datastore

    -Guest OS

    -Guest DNS Hostname

    -Power State

    -Notes

    -Custom Attribute

    -Tags and Categories

You can then create a second copy for each storage policy and dictate how and when that copy is pushed to another library/MA
