I have a feature request. I backup a lot of laptops in my company and they are all at different locations worldwide. I use also many mediaagents on different locations worldwide. The most laptops backup to the mediaagents there the laptops are also located. I currently use Client Groups and I have defined the storage policy also at client group level. Some laptops are not always at the same location. So it is difficult to assign the laptop always to the correct group.

My feature request is, that I can create a Automatic Client Group there I can define a networksubnet. If the laptop is in a certain subnet, than it should assign automatically to this group and therefore to the mediaagent which is in the same subnet on the basis of the storage policy. It is currently possible to do this with timezones, but I have more locations in the same timezone. And therefore more mediaagents in the same timezone.

    This would be perfect!

    Hi ,

we already have a CMR entered for this actually in which client groups can be created based on CIDR address range.

so clients in,30 range wil automatically get associated to that group.

"Client CIDR Address Range" smart client group rule is now available in V11 SP 10 with hotfixes 2119 and 2120.
