    Hello all,

We have a Commserve V11SP11 with a DD setup.

Few days ago we notice that the program files x86 folder contents (had some SQL binaries) was deleted and we can’t recover them. (no we didn’t had backup of the commserve Fs).

The plan here is to activate the DR and repair the commserve.

My doubts are related on whats the best way to repair this. since most binaries are SQL server binaries and SQL was installed by commvault I am not sure how to do it.

I am thinking on (after Activate DR) to uninstall the commserve, install it again, set it as DR of the active node and once DB is synced fail to the primary again.

Can anyone help me with this? Am i thinking correctly?

    Regards,

    Stg

    Hi Stg

I do agree with your chain of thoughts.

If you have a failover DR setup, then it would be recommendable to failover to the DR site, then either try a repair or a reinstall of the CommVault software from scratch.

Once the repair or reinstall is complete, you can then failback and let the DB sync.

Note - the real issue here sounds like the missing SQL binaries, and I would recommend to further investigate this to prevent this from happening.

Could you confirm whether you have Anti-virus installed on the CommServe and whether the following Anti-virus exclusions are in place - http://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11/article?p=8665.htm

    Thank you

    Winston
