I have an email from ComMVault that service pack 11 is available for install but when I go to the console and use right-click properties on my commcell server (which is also one of my media agents), everything shows as 'Up To Date'. I tried running Add/Remove software > Install Service Pack and Hotfixes but it resturns with "Already up to date".
What's the process for installing SP11 on CommVault version 11?
First right click on the commcell and select All Tasks -> Add/Remove Software -> Download Software. You should then be presented with an option to download SP11. Once the service pack has been downloaded, you can then "push" out to all your clients inclusing the commserve. It it recommended to do the CS first followed by the MAs and then the clients last.

Run a download updates job first. Then the CS version tab should show 11+hotfixes available for restore. Until these updates are on teh CommServe, they cannot be installed on the media agents or clients. As they are only available for the CommServe only the CommServe will show updates needed, everything else will be up to date with whatever the previous version of the updates is.
do the Ma and clients update automatically once the commserve is updated?
If you have an update schedule in place, then yes assuming all components are selected in the association.
If not then you will have to initiate an update job your self.
Thanks everyone for the feedback. CommVault is not my primary focus and I've been doing right-click > All Tasks > Add/Remove Software > Install Service Pack and Hotfixes for so long I'd forgotten that the system only does hot fixes doesn't automatically download the next service pack.
