  • Can I have a secondary copy of full backup to an external USB disk?

Hi, I would want to understand is it possible for me to configure commvault to make a secondary copy of my weekly full database backups to an external USB disk?

I'm running on COMMVAULT version 10 and my database agent is Oracle agent.

Currently I only have a primary copy configured to the our virtual tape library. Due to a request from our application team, they need a specific database backup to have a secondary copy offsite.

Please help me on how can I achieve this.

Depends on how permanent this solution would be. Would not recommend to have USB disks if this is going to be a permanent solution moving forward for all weekly full's of this DB.

You can always configure it as a standard disk library in Commvault then add an additional secondary copy on the storage policy making it selective copy and associated with only this client / subclient etc.
