    Hi All,

i have an questeion regarding auxcopy and throtteling.

    We have the following constellation:

6 Media Agents with local storage wich are connected via an mpls connection to the main datacenter.  Commserve and Media Agent 7 are hosted in azure cloud with blob storage. We need to copy the data from the office to the cloud. The thing is that we must go through the main datacenter. From main datacenter to the azure cloud we can only use an limited bandwith of 50mbit for the auxcopy operation.

My first idear was set an throtteling on mediagante 7 in the cloud wich is auxcopy destination and say send and receive 50mbit from the group of mediaagents in the office. But hwta happens ? Is this setting for the hole group or for each ma ? if its for each ma we are running on 600 mbit.

I dont want to limit each media aget to say okay all MAs can send with ~9Mbit to the ma in the cloud. this would fix the problem but than i have the problem that all other mas have 9mbirt wen 3 office are done with auxcopy the other one use 9mbit anyway.

Do you have an idear ?

    Hi Smithse

When setting up a Network Throttle rule, between the 6 MA and the MA in the Cloud, this will mean every MediaAgent will be able to use up to the assigned bandwidth, per MA resulting in a possible use of 300 mbit.

However if you want to control and use all MA in the Group to not exceed 50 mbit, and will only ever use 50 mbit, use the following option (All clients share allocated bandwidth)

The above setting will limit all the Clients (within the Client Group) to not exceed 50 mbit (when combined together), but will use up to 50 mbit, even if 1 client is running the Aux Copy.

See if this helps and achieves what you need
