Given a jobSummary record with appTypeName=>"Virtual Server" how does one obtain a list of the actual VMs backed up by that job?

There should be an option for protected VMs in the Job Summary Report settings. This will list out the individual VMs for each Job ID that is referenced, similar to including protected objects in a file system backup.
