We are trying to migrate backup data from one cloud library (240TB) to a new cloud library in a new region. The library is a storage account in Azure. Currently it is in their East US 2 region and we want to migrate to West US 2. I know this can be done with their powershell tool AZCopy, but I dont know if its as simple when it comes to the commvault side of things. The only documentation I can find that is similar is this:

Converting Disk Library to Cloud Library

    https://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11_sp6/article?p=features/cloud_storage/t_converting_disk_library_to_cloud_library.htm

Has anyone done this before? Also, the transfer process isnt the fastest thing in the world and will take closer to 8 days for that amount of data. Brining the cloud library offline for that amount of time will be a big risk. An ideas on this?

    Hi Commvault_Rav

From a Commvault perspective, you can configure another Copy (pointing to the new Azure Blob) for each of the Storage Policy (that you are migrating). Then trigger an Aux copy to replicate the data using Commvault's Aux Copy operation.

By doing the above, you are able to monitor the replication job via Commvault

    • Note - this will be applicable for Non-Dedupe and Dedupe Data.
