Looking to create a simple server to send aux copies to, thinking of HP DL360 with about 8TB of space (we use about 7.4TB on the media agent repository).

Anyone have any tips with setting up their aux copy to a remote site?

    Hi Big Blue_84

In regards to this new Server ( HP DL360 with about 8TB of space) that you planning to provision will you be using Deduplication?

There are various factors that you will need to take into account such as:

    • Is Source Data Deduplicated and Compressed?
    • Will the Destination also be configured with Deduplication and Compression?
    • What is the link between both the sites?
    • Is the Source Copy Retention going to be the same as the Destination Retention (or the Destination will have longer retention)?
Depending on the current configuration, if you can share more details, I can provide more suggestion
