    Hi All,

I have some data which is not aging off as a final level FULL backup was not taken before the client backup  was disabled.

Due to space constraints I don't want to run a FULL backup to complete the cycle as the amount of data involved is about 16TB. Is it possible to run a FULL backup of the subclient without actually backing up any data to fool Commvault into thinking the cycle is complete and allow the data to be aged off?

    Any advice will be apprecaited.

If the agent involved is supported for Synthetic Full, then yes.

You will need to re-enable backups on the client first (maybe disable it's schedule or something) then trigger the synthetic full. Once job is done, disable the client for backups again.

If you want the data to simply age, instead of disabling the backups, just release the agent license.

You have an option called "Ignore Cycles Retention on De-Configured Clients" on Control Panel > Media Management Config > Data Aging (TAB).

When you set it to "1" commvault will ignore the retention cycles of clients without license and the data will age only using the remaining days.

Other option is to delete the jobs manually from the storage policy.
