    Hello,

    First time using CDR here.  Installed the CDR package on 2 Windows computers and created a simple replication set.  After starting a full sync, the state becomes "Preparing for Replication" but nothing happens.  When I check the CDR log on the source side I see the following:

    7768  ec8   10/09 10:14:51 ####### CvFwClient::connect() - ERROR: Unable to connect: Must provide a valid remote port number.
    7768 ec8 10/09 10:14:51 ####### CPipelayer::connectToDest Failed to connect to DAL1vDFSR01T(DAL1vDFSR01T):0/0: Unable to connect: Must provide a valid remote port number.

    I've confirmed that port 8400 is accessible from either side via telnet. Any idea what's going on here? I don't recall having to specify a port anywhere.

    Thanks,
    - Bill

    Add the additional setting nPreferredIPFamily to 1 in the additional settings on both the source and destination machines.

    This setting already defaults to 1.  Any other ideas?  Thanks.

    Made the setting just the same on both source/destination and the logs are still indicating the same error:

    7768  ebc   10/10 09:19:36 ####### CPipelayer::connectToDest Connecting pipeline to (DAL1vDFSR01T)DAL1vDFSR01T:0/0
    7768 ebc 10/10 09:19:36 ####### CvFwClient::connect() - ERROR: Unable to connect: Must provide a valid remote port number.
    7768 ebc 10/10 09:19:36 ####### CPipelayer::connectToDest Failed to connect to DAL1vDFSR01T(DAL1vDFSR01T):0/0: Unable to connect: Must provide a valid remote port number.
    7768 ebc 10/10 09:19:36 ####### CPipelayer::InitiatePipeline Cannot connect to the CVD port on machine [DAL1vDFSR01T]:[0]
    7768 ebc 10/10 09:19:36 ####### CCVAPipelayer::StartFileReplicationPipeline()() - Error starting pipeline!

    Bill, please make sure services are recycled on both source and destination after making change in settings. By looking at log snippet, I see that process id is the same before and after, so this indicates you still need to bounce services.

    That seems to have done the trick!  Thank you so much.
