  • How to change Media Agent IP?

    Hi,

When I was installing the Media Agent, I added by mistake, the internal IP of the server... and because of that, the Media Agent Server cant reach the clients, because it tries to communicate with the clients using the internal IP.

Is there a way to replace/update the Media Agent Server IP without uninstalling/reinstalling the Media?

    Thanks a lot!

    Hi dedalus

So when you added the MediaAgent you use IP instead of hostname?

If the MediaAgent has multiple NIC Interface (with ones that are internal and other use for Backup), you can use Data Interface Pairs (https://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11/article?p=features/data_interface_pairs/data_interface_pairs.htm) to direct the tracffic to the correct path

    Regards

If you have already or can install the FS iDA as well, even if only temporary, you will have the option to edit the client and\or hostname at the client level. You won't have the same options under media agents.
