  • No backup for last 7 days Type warning message for backed up subclient

Since yesterday on my V11 SP17 HPK26 Commvault complex, I've been getting the "No backup for last 7 days" e-mail warning for an a Virtual Server which has several Subclient groups, and one of Subclient shows a warning. Part of that warning shows:

    • Not backed up since: 8 (eight) day(s)
    • Date of last recorded backup: 2020/03/10
    • Time of last recorded backup: 12:00:08

Looking at the job history, there are indeed daily Incremental backups and weekly Synthetic Full backups. There are 129 Virtual Machines total, with 123 successful backups while 6 of them are partially success, with messages showing that unable to quiesce guest file system and possibly update VMware Tools. In the past, such minor messagse would not trigger such a warning message. There are other Subclient groups which contain warnings as well, and yet those Subclients don't show such a warning.

Do you know what would account for this false warning and what could be done to resolve the warning?

    Thanks very much.

Do any of the VMs in question have the file system agent installed on the guest themselves that have not backed up?

Checking the subclient properties which has a content of a Database Cluster, pressing the Preview button shows 131 VM's.

While looking at the job history of that subclient, selecting a backup job detail, and selecting Virtual Machine Status, a total of 131 VM's have been recognized, with 123 successful VM's and 8 partially successful. So all of them are recognized.

There are a few VM's in the group which are turned off, but the status still shows Completed. Perhaps the VM's that are turned off can explain the warning.
