    Hi,

I'm puzzled by this sentence in BOL http://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11_sp20/article?p=102029.htm): "For an existing Commvault deployment, you must enable Indexing Version 2". What does this mean? How can I enable VSA V2 for an existing Commvault deployment?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

VSA V2 is available by default only in new Commvault deployments. In order to get V2 for existing deployments, please reach out to support. The below doc note explains and provides clarity. We will try to put that in the same page.

    http://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v11_sp20/article?p=104612.htm

"To determine whether you should enable Indexing Version 2 for VM-centric operations, contact your account representative to review your requirements with Commvault Support and Development, to ensure that you can switch to VM-centric operations without having a negative impact on current operational processes. Commvault Support can also facilitate the upgrade process to ensure continued access to existing backups and a smooth transition to VM-centric operations. "
