Fresh install of version 9

    doing a fresh install of CV version 9 and have run into the following error message.

    can i just install sql 2008 r2 then continue with the install?

     

    setup failed to locate the log file associated with the silent install of MSSQL at location: C:\ProgramFiles\Microsoft  SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\LOG\Summary.txt

    You can install the commserve on an existing SQL application.

    thank Stephen, not quit following. this is a brand new install.

    Let me make sure I understand the question.

    You want to install SQL then install Simpana ontop of it?

    Simpana should be aware of an existing installation of SQL and install without issue.

    If thats not your question im confused Undecided

    sorry Stephen, there isnt any existing install of sql, it's a fresh install on a fresh server.

    Thanks for clarifying.

     

    Try running setup.exe for the SQL install and lets see if it throws an error.

    Sounds like the download either didnt complete or is corrupt. Can you download the software and try again?
