Does the backup of NTFS compressed files and folders cause any sort of extra performance hit?
I know NTFS in general causes some processor load due to its uncompressing and recompressing but my plan is to run file compression on all files not modified in the last X years.
Should mean that the extra processor load won't really apply because the files are not modified that often? Archiving isn't an option at the moment so i'm just looking for ways to reduce the dead wood.
I suppose i should check if AV decompress/recompress's to scan too...
