Exchange mailbox e-mail backup failures

  • Exchange mailbox e-mail backup failures

    I've been getting failures on particular e-mails in folders within certain peoples mailboxes, but cannot pin-point as to what particular e-mail it is. I get the following error:

  • Fail backup 5 messages in mailbox:John folder:\Old
  • Fail backup 1 messages in mailbox:Jane folder:\Inbox\Quality
  • Any recommendations as to getting these errors resolved? I'm trying to get my backups 100% and these are my remaining stragglers remaining to get corrected. Thanks.

    What version of CommVault are you running?  If it is 9.0, please make sure SP1A is applied.  If it is 8.0, please make sure SP5 is applied.

    Can you right click the job from job History and try to View Failed Fails ?

    You can also run a job summary report with the Failed Files option to see if it will list the mails which failed.

    JW, we are using Simpana 8.0 service pack 5.0.

    It's odd because when I view the job history it shows complete with Failures: 0 Folders, 0 Files. But my daily report I have sent to me list particular mailboxes that has messages inside--usually just a few--that failed to backup.
