Sounds to me that there is an issue with the file system with a VM you are trying to back up, at least if this error does not occur while not backing up VM's.
Check the VM backup and lookup the VM name with a backup time corresponding to the event id time stamp. On that VM perform disk checks so the MFT can be corrected.
If you have an update schedule in place, then yes assuming all components are selected in the association.
If not then you will have to initiate an update job your self.
