I have a disk library that consists of a number of cifs shares and two Media Agents that both have access to this disk library.

A DDB is partitioned across both Media Agents, and for each SP copy both media agents are enabled with round robin between data paths.

All backups and aux copies are spread out over the two Media Agents.

Is there a way to select which Media Agent is used for the physical pruning? All physical pruning is done via the second Media Agent, and I would like to divide the load (and possibly speed up physical pruning).

IN V11 you can enabled/disable per DDB.

Are both paths enabled for read/write? You will need write access to prune data on a mount path

    Hi Joey,

Currently no way to distribute the work load, however you could grangularily manage the data aging operation, and run them at specified time to trigger pruning.

How much pruning happens in your enviornment and do you have any downtime from jobs?

    Hi Joey,

To expand on what the other gents have said already. In CV v9 and CV v10 there are no ways to do exaclty what you have asked, but are ways to work around what your requirement may be.

Additionally CV v11 does have the ability to disable pruning by Media Agent. More granular options maybe in the roadmap for the future.
